Frequently Asked Questions

Discover the answers to your frequently asked questions about Find The Q & treasure hunts

Find The Q takes place on the last Sunday of every month (with few deviations) in Copenhagen. The treasure hunt begins at the announced start time, which usually is around 12-13 (12-1 PM)

As hunters get points for completing the treasure hunt, it is beneficial for participants to complete the event, even if they aren't first to do so.

Aarhus is our "testing grounds" to run new ideas, concepts before we hit the capital.

As we grow, so will the "purpose" of Aarhus.

Each ticket represents one official hunter.

Participants are welcome to collaborate during the hunt. However, each ticket holder competes individually and may submit one official final answer.

The winner is determined by the earliest valid submission of the correct final answer, based on the official system timestamp.

If multiple correct submissions are received within seconds of each other, the exact recorded timestamp decides the winner.

Each ticket equals one official hunter.

Each ticket equals one official treasure hunter.

You’re welcome to participate as a group and solve clues together. However, only ticket holders can submit the final answer and compete for the treasure.

If you are five people hunting together and only one person holds a ticket, your group has one official submission opportunity.

If all five hold tickets, each person competes individually - meaning five independent hunters and five official submission opportunities.

In close finishes, where multiple teams reach the solution at nearly the same time, timestamps decide the winner. Each ticket holder competes separately.

Example:

  • Group A has 3 people but only 1 ticket → they can submit 1 final answer (1 timestamp).
  • Group D has 5 people and 5 tickets → they can submit 5 final answers (5 timestamps).

As our treasure hunt formats evolve, there may be scenarios where multiple teams reach the final location simultaneously. In those moments, timestamps decide the winner - and each ticket equals one official entry.

Absolutely.

You’re welcome to participate as a team. However, each ticket counts as one official entry, and only the ticket holder may submit answers and claim the treasure.

If you’re participating as a group and want multiple official entries, each participant must have their own ticket.

For now, yes.

We currently host treasure hunts in Copenhagen and Aarhus as we focus on refining and perfecting the experience in these cities, with primary focus on Copenhagen.

Our ambition is to expand to more cities - both in Denmark and internationally as the society grows.

The hunt begins at the announced start time and continues until the treasure is found and confirmed.

We design the hunts to be completed within 1-4 hours, depending on your wits.

However as a treasure hunter, it is beneficial to complete the hunt for points towards the leaderboard, even if you aren't the first to complete it.

You will need a smartphone with internet access and Google Maps installed. Comfortable footwear is recommended.

The treasure is placed in a public and accessible location.

Please respect surroundings and other people at all times.

Yes of course, children are very welcome to join the treasure hunt together with family or guardians.

Please note that at least one adult must be the official ticket holder and responsible for submitting answers.

The current clues and riddles are designed for adults and may be challenging for younger participants.

We are also working on a dedicated Find The Q Kids version - a softer and more accessible experience designed specifically for children.

The winner is determined by the earliest valid submission of the correct final answer, based on the official system timestamp recorded on our platform.

In the rare event that two submissions are recorded at the exact same timestamp down to the system precision, the winner will be determined by the earliest verified completion of all required steps.

Our system timestamps are final and binding.
